Admission criteria

The University of New Brunswick Faculty of Science seeks to provide opportunities for students and employers to develop relationships that enhance the learning experience for students and present employers with skilled, motivated students looking to develop their academic, professional and personal skill sets while making a career connection in their field of study.

Co-op is available to students in biology, chemistry, geology, mathematics, physics and statistics.

Student eligibility is based on the following criteria:

  1. Registration as full-time UNB undergraduate student.
  2. Approval from your department and the co-op office.
  3. Department-specific requirements:
    1. Biology
      • CGPA: 3.0 or higher
      • Completed Year II
    2. Chemistry
      • Honours student
      • Completed Year II 
    3. Geology
      • CGPA: 2.7 or higher
      • Completed Year II
    4. Mathematics
      • CGPA: 3.0 (3.5 for Honours)
      • Completed Year II
    5. Physics
      • CGPA: 3.5
      • Honours student
      • Completed 2.5 years
    6. Statistics
      • CGPA: 3.0 (3.5 for Honours)
      • Completed Year II
