Life as a Graduated student


Funding

Fully qualified students accepted for a graduate program in Chemistry can usually expect funding for up to three years for the M.Sc. degree and up to five years (from B.Sc.) for the Ph.D. degree. The recommended minimum per annum stipends are $16,000 for the M.Sc. and $17,000 for the Ph.D. program as of January 2006. A portion of this financial support is payment for work as a teaching assistant in an undergraduate teaching laboratory.

Awards

In addition to the financial support mentioned above, a number of awards are available to Chemistry graduate students, including the following:
