Research facilities on the Fredericton campus are located primarily
in Loring Bailey Hall and in the C.W. Argue Research Wing, and
include well-equipped laboratories for plant and animal tissue
culture, biochemical, physiological, and morphological research.
The department has ultracentrifuges, scintillation counters, cell
fractionators, fish culture rooms, facilities for holding animals,
incubators, growth chambers, biohazard containment facilities
and a greenhouse complex located on the roof. Access to the extensive
facilities of the Electron
Microscopy Unit is facilitated by its convenient location
in Loring Bailey Hall.
The Department of Biology also has an herbarium, photographic darkrooms and access to the University's computer network. The University is a full member of the Huntsman Marine Laboratory at Saint Andrews.
