NSERC UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
COMPETITION 2013
Details:

  • Value of the award is $4500 from NSERC, which must be supplemented by the supervisor by at least 25% or $1125.
  • Supervisors must hold an active NSERC grant at time of application or when the student takes up the award.
  • A list of potential supervisors is available from the Biology office OR visit the Biology Department website at: http://www.unb.ca/fredericton/science/biology.

Eligibility:

  • Students must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and have completed at least 2 terms of full-time study when they take up the award.
  • Students must have a minimum cumulative B average (3.0 Cgpa).
  • Graduating students may hold an award if they have not begun graduate studies.
  • Students are encouraged to apply for the Industrial USRA program.  These awards flow directly through the companies involved.  Details are available at:  www.nserc.ca.
  • Official UNB transcripts are not necessary for the initial review.  Students must scan and upload their transcripts from their e-services.  Successful applicants will need to replace these with official transcripts before final recommendation to NSERC.  The SGS will contact those students in March with further instructions.

Applications:

  • Students complete Form 202 Part I online via the NSERC website, including uploading a scanned copy of their transcript.  Prospective supervisors complete Form 202 Part II online (including their NSERC PIN and award number).  Verify completeness and submit electronically to the School of Graduate Studies (“Submit to LO”, on the NSERC on-line system no later than Monday January 28th.
