We’re glad you’re back and we hope you enjoyed your year in residence.
Check-in day for returning students will be September 4, 2018. During check-in for the 2018-19 academic year our front desk will be open additional hours.
Early arrival requests
UNB Residence Life is only able to offer early check-ins to students belonging to approved early arrival groups. Residence Life support staff are not in our buildings until September 1, 2018, therefore we require a university official (faculty, staff, coach, etc.) to be present prior to this. The group leader(s) is responsible for making early arrival requests and acting as the main point of contact for Residence Life, as well as being a resource and contact for their students.
All early arrival requests must be submitted by Friday, July 13, 2018 and a full list of students requiring early accommodations must be provided no later than Friday, August 3, 2018.
Approved early arrival categories include:
- Early academic requirements
- Varsity athletes
- Campus leadership training
- New international students
Early arrival fees
Early arrivals fall outside of the Residence Contract period and therefore are subject to an early arrival fee of $30 per night. These fees will be added to your account unless your group leader has arranged to cover these fees. We do extend a 48 hour grace period, so this fee does not apply to students arriving between August 30, 2018 and September 1, 2018.
It is also important to note that if you wish to access campus dining facilities a dining fee of $20 per day will be charged to your student account until the official opening of residence on September 1, 2018. If you do not wish to pay this fee, you will be responsible for your own meals.
