About the House
Tibbits Hall was established in 1970 as an all-female house, but now functions as a co-ed residence on the UNB Fredericton campus. We are named after Mary K. Tibbits who in 1889 was the first female graduate of the University of New Brunswick.We are lucky enough to have a fantastic house committee and house team, both of which are committed to providing an amazing on campus experience. We are connected to Joy Kidd House and Lady Dunn Hall to form DKT (Dunn, Kidd, Tibbits) we share the DKT Dining Hall and the DKT Media Lounge.Tibbits Hall as two fully furnished lounges (big screen TV, couches, tables etc.), 2 kitchenettes, a quiet study lounge equipped with study cubicles and a computer lab. Tibbits is also home to a small gym equipped with tread mill, bike and elliptical. Some of the events that Tibbits is most known include our Hawaiian Luau during orientation week, our "Pushing Carts to Warm Hearts" charity food drive, our Halloween social and party with Big Brothers, Big Sisters Foundation and our annual formal, all of which are sure to be an awesome time! Tibbits Hall is one of the most exciting places to live. We also play intramural sports and take part in other events around campus.
House Charity
Our house charity is the Fredericton Food Bank, we host our charity event “Pushing Carts to Warm Hearts” each year. The event involves the members of our house going door to door around Fredericton and receiving food donations for the food bank. We also hold a Halloween Social which we donate all the profits to the food bank.
