About the House
Joy Kidd was the longest serving dean of women and was known and admired for her advocacy of students (in particular women), her support of student self government, her strong belief in athletics and extracurricular activities. her desire to improve student services and her dedication in the residence community. In recognition of her efforts to better the university community and further student development, the university named Joy W. Kidd House after her.
The residence occupies the former Lady Dunn Hall building, which was moved nearby in 1998 when the entire complex was reconfigured to better meet residence students' needs. It is now our biggest house on campus and forms part of the DKT Complex, which includes its own attached meal hall as well the DKT Lounge, which has hosted many formal residence events and provides a great place to do some studying.
