Leaving Residence & Checking Out

Check Out Procedure:

Unless you've received an approved extension, you will need to leave residence 24 hours after your last exam (unless your last exam is on April 21st, in which case you will need to move out before Noon on April 22nd).

Please follow this procedure to ensure a quick and easy check-out:

1.When your belongings are packed up, move them out of your room

2.Clean your room and if necessary, sweep and mop the floors.

3.Remove your garbage from your room and put it in the house dumpster.

4.Ensure everything that was in your room before you moved in is left in your room (pillow, telephone, chair, garbage can, etc.)

5.Call the Proctor on Duty in your house to come and do your RIF (Room Inventory Form)

6.When the Proctor has finished his or her inspection, take your RIF and keys to the Residence Office.

7.If the Residence Office is closed, put your keys and RIF into the mail slot on the inner door of the office.

The Residence Office is open Monday to Friday from 8.15AM to 4.30PM and closed on weekends, except for Saturday, April 21st and Sunday, April 22nd only, when the office will be open from 8.15AM-4.30PM.

NOTE: After handing in your keys, you will not be able to get back into the building, so please move your belongings out of the house prior to coming to the Residence Office.

If you have any questions about the check-out procedure, don't hesitate to ask your Proctor, Don, or us!
