Anne Ballem graduated from the Prince Edward Island School of Nursing in 1978. Following graduation she worked in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick hospitals in a variety of settings including Intensive Care, Paediatrics, Emergency, and Surgery. In 2003 she graduated from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) RN/BN program with her Bachelor of Nursing degree. Presently she is a Nurse Educator in a joint appointment between the Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital and the University of New Brunswick, Faculty of Nursing. In this joint appointment she is a clinical instructor for third and fourth year nursing students at UNB, and a staff educator in the surgical program at the hospital. She returned to UNB in 2005 as a part- time student to pursue a Masters Degree in Nursing. The title of her thesis research is Experienced Nurses? Perceptions: New Graduates in the Workplace.
