UNB Law hosted the annual Trilateral Moot Competition in Fredericton over the weekend of November 12th & 13th. Teams from Dalhousie Law, University of Maine Faculty of Law and UNB Law competed for the coveted Trilateral Cup. This year's moot problem was drafted by Professor Marya Baron from the University of Maine and it focussed on defamation issues.
The teams appeared before benches made up of members of the local judiciary and bar. When the tabulating of scores was finished, UNB Law had won best team overall (winning the Trilateral Cup). As well, Best Oralist went to UNB Law student Troy Estensen. University of Maine won Best Factum for the Appellants' written submissions.
The UNB Law team, pictured right (from left to right), is made up of Rob Hiseler, Kailey Fisher, Katie Morrison and Troy Estensen. Professor Pamela Anderson acted as coach (not shown).
Special thanks goes to all of the judges and student volunteers who participated in this year's moot.
