Charity Auction Raises $4063 for Liberty Lane

Auctioneer David Townsend

On Saturday February 26th, the University of New Brunswick Faculty of Law hosted its annual Charity Auction at Ludlow Hall. The Charity Auction raised a total of $4063, all of which will be donated to Liberty Lane, a local charitable organization offering Second Stage Housing and a Family Violence Prevention Outreach Program to women and their children who have experienced family violence.

Donations were made to the auction by faculty, staff and students from Ludlow and included artwork, gift certificates, baked goodies, and dinners hosted by the Dean and UNB law faculty. The highest sale of the night was for a dinner for 6 students at the Blue Door with Profs. Vaughn MacLellan and Kevin Fritz, which went for $382., while Prof. Don Fleming's contribution titled "Tie three on" consisting of two bottles of wine and a vintage bowtie was one of the evening's most popular items.

Congratulations to the Charity Auction organizers for a job very well done!
