Professor Carissima Mathen to appear on "The Agenda"

Professor Carissima Mathen will appear as a guest on "The Agenda with Steve Paikin" on TVOntario on Wendesday, December 9, 2009 at 8:00 pm EST. 

The Agenda is a current affairs program providing in-depth coverage of specific contemporary social issues.  Professor Mathen will participate in a debate entitled "Censorship and Forbidden Reading:  An idea is a powerful tool. So is knowledge. But when do they become dangerous? And who decides when there is a threat? "  Other panelists in the debate include Joanne McGarry (executive director of the Catholic Civil Rights League), David Kent (President and CEO of HarperCollins Canada), Mark Johnston (producer, director and writer), and Mohammad Fadel (Professor in the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.)
