International Humanitarian Law Conference

The UNB Law International Law Society is hosting the 2010 International Humanitarian Law Conference on Friday, January 29th, 2010 at Ludlow Hall.
The event will include individual speakers and panel discussions on a variety of topics related to international humanitarian law, including "Canadian Red Cross: Introduction fo International Humanitarian Law", "Prevention and Protection: International Humanitarian Law and the Victims of Armed Conflict", "Military Targeting: The Legal Process of Target Selection and the Potential Humanitarian Consequences", and "The Extradition of Dwight Hickey: A travesty of Transnational Justice Narrowly Averted."
The keynote address will feature prominent international lawyer Richard Perras, defense counsel for Munyaneza, the first person prosecuted under Canada's newly enacted Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Act.
The conference has been approved by the Law Society of New Brunswick for six (6) hours of Continuing Legal Education.
