Prof. Sanda Rodgers Speaks at UNB Law
Sanda Rodgers, Professor of Social Justice and former Dean of the Faculty of Law at University of Ottawa, spoke at UNB Law on Tuesday, October 14th on the importance of promoting equality in legal education. The title of Prof. Rodgers’ presentation was Educating for Equality: The Institutional Obligation to Make a Difference.”
Prof. Rodgers was in Fredericton to support the establishment of a Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (L.E.A.F.) branch in New Brunswick and also spoke at the Persons Day Breakfast on October 15th.
Professor Sanda Rodgers is former Dean of the Faculty of Law. She is an expert in Canadian health law, more particularly in women's health. She has numerous publications in the health law area and has served as a consultant to the Royal Commission on New Reproductive Technologies, the Krever Inquiry into Confidentiality of Health and Related Information and the Federal/Provincial/Territorial Health Care Liability Review, among others. She was a consultant to the Federal Law Reform Commission on the Status of the Fetus and served as a Commissioner of the Ontario Law Reform Commission.
