UNB Law Places 4th at National Gale Cup Moot

Justice Francois Doyon Jean-Pierre Hachey, Professor Carissima Mathen, Karen Stilwell, Sarah Drodge, Tyler Botten and Senator David SmithUNB Law recently competed in the National Gale Cup criminal moot, which took place in Toronto on March 1, 2008. The team (Tyler Botten, Sarah Drodge, Jean-Pierre Hachey and Karen Stilwell - all third year UNB Law students) is thrilled with its achievements at the Gale Cup, placing fourth overall after an impressive final argument by Sarah Drodge and Karen Stilwell against the Université de Moncton. The final moot was argued before a panel including Supreme Court Justice Louis LeBel. UNB also was awarded second prize in the factum portion of the competition. Seventeen law schools participated in the Gale Cup moot. Professor Carissima Mathen acted as coach.
