Silent No More: Speak Out for Choice!

On April 11, 2007, UNB Law, in conjunction with Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada, the Advisory Council on the Status of Women and Law Students for Choice, hosted a panel discussion on women's reproductive rights in New Brunswick. The panel was made up of legal and medical experts who provided an update on the New Brunswick situation. The panel discussion was followed by guest speaker, author/columnist, Heather Mallick.

Panel members were:

  • Dr. Jo Ann Majerovich, Director of the UNB Student Health Centre
  • Professor Marilyn Merritt Grey, UNB Faculty of Nursing
  • Professor Jula Hughes, UNB Faculty of Law

The event was attended by well over 200 students, faculty and members of the public who wished to voice their support for the need for improved access to abortion services for New Brunswick women.
