Professor John McEvoy Testifies Before Senate Committee

On Thursday, 22 March 2007, Professor John McEvoy appeared as an expert witness before the Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs in Ottawa to discuss Bill S-4 a proposed constitutional amendment to change the tenure of senators to eight years.

The Committee invited Prof. McEvoy to address the issue of the appropriate amending procedure under Part V of the Constitution Act, 1982. Prof. McEvoy took the
opportunity to present the clerk of the Committee with a copy of a legal memorandum on the issue prepared in his Constitutional Law course by Adam van der Linde (LL.B. I)
