UNB Student Selected to Junior Team Canada 2008 Trade Mission

Junior Team CanadaGavin Cosgrove, a third-year law student at the University of New Brunswick, was recently selected as a delegate for a trade mission to South America. The Junior Team Canada Mission to Peru and Colombia, scheduled for late February, will coincide with the signing of a free trade agreement between Canada and the two nations.

Mr. Cosgrove was selected from 2,200 applicants from various parts of Canada. The selection was based on applicant’s communication skills, leadership, team building skills, and commitment to community.

As a member of Junior Team Canada, Cosgrove will serve as an ambassador to New Brunswick, as well as to business and community based organizations. In addition to conducting presentations about New Brunswick and his sponsors, he will meet with business, industry and government leaders both in Canada and abroad.

Mr. Cosgrove is required to raise a minimum of $4,500 towards the total cost of the mission. In return for sponsorship, companies and organizations will gain valuable market and cultural information from both Peru and Colombia, as well as receive a great deal of recognition and exposure. In addition, all sponsors will receive a tax receipt for their donation.
