Dr. Margaret McCallum Gives Annual History Lecture at SFX University

Dr. Margaret McCallum and Dr. Rusty Bittermann of the History Dept.,St. Thomas University, gave the Annual History Lecture at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish on 1 November. Their subject was Canada's contribution to the development of international legal recognition of the rights of indigenous peoples. They used the occasion to criticize Canada for voting against the UN Draft Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples adopted by the UN Human Rights Council in June 2006.
