Professor Jula Hughes Presents at Conference in China
Professor Jula Hughes presented at the International Conference on Sino-Canadian Criminal Theories, held in Jinan, China, November 10-13, 2006.
The conference focused discussion on the history and status quo of development of Canadian Criminal Law; comparative research into China-Canada Theoretical System of Crime; comparative research into China-Canada systems and theories of punishment; characteristics and tendency of the development of Theoretical System of Crime in the countries around the world; and the approach to develop and improve the Theoretical System of Crime, systems and theories of punishment in the new historical stage.
Professor Hughes was one of approximately 80 representatives from China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Canada, Britain, Russia, Japan and Spain attended the conference. Professor Hughes presented on Theory of Punishment.
