Canadian Judicial Council - Jury Instructions

The Council's National Committee on Jury Instructions created model jury instructions for criminal cases. These jury instructions provide a "script" for judges to read when informing juries about the nature of the criminal charge and the issues that are specific to the case. The purpose of the jury instructions is to reduce case dismissals resulting from errors in instructing the jury, making the court system more efficient.


Correctional Service Canada

Innocence Canada
Innocence Canada (formerly the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted or AIDWYC) is a non-profit organization that has developed a strong reputation as an advocate for individuals who have been wrongly convicted. AIDWYC's primary mandate is to review and support claims of innocence in homicide cases." AIDWYC stands for the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted.


Juristat (Statistics Canada)

National Criminal Justice Reference Service (U.S.)

NCJRS is a [U.S.] federally funded resource offering justice and substance abuse information to support research, policy, and program development worldwide. Site contains full-text reports, statistics, and commentary on various issues related to criminal law and criminology. NCJRS services and resources are available to anyone interested in crime and public safety, including policymakers, practitioners, researchers, educators, community leaders, and the general public.
