Helen Bassett Commemorative Award

Congratulations to third-year law student Desirée Duplessis on winning the Helen Bassett Commemorative Award, coordinated by the Native Women’s Association of Canada. One of four national award winners, Desirée focuses on Indigenous law and social justice issues, and hopes to work in these fields after graduating from UNB Law.

UNB Law names new dean

John Kleefeld will soon be joining the University of New Brunswick as professor and dean of law. Professor Kleefeld comes to UNB from the University of Saskatchewan where he served as associate law professor with experience in teaching tort law, civil procedure, dispute resolution, legal research, and judgment writing.
