Call for Comments on Nominees 

The Teaching Excellence Award Committee is pleased to announce the following two nominees for the Teaching Excellence Award for 2012-13:
  
Professor John McEvoy
Dr. Hilary Young

The Committee thanks the students who submitted nominations and also these faculty members for accepting the nomination.

In accordance with the terms of the Award, the Committee invites students, faculty and other interested persons to provide comments in support of these nominees to the  Committee.

 Comments will be most useful if they address the selection criteria established by the terms of the Award, as follows:

  1. teaching skills and methods;
  2. commitment to student learning;
  3. innovative teaching practices;
  4. results of UNB Senate Student Opinion Surveys;
  5. evidence of direct impact on student learning;
  6. promotion of an inclusive learning environment;
  7. curriculum and course development initiatives, such as preparation of casebooks, lesson plans and other course materials that contribute to more effective teaching;
  8. comments and documentation received in support of the nomination (anonymous material must not be submitted or considered);
  9. educational leadership, such as workshops or mentoring for colleagues on teaching and learning;
  10. contributions to the learning experience at UNB Law such as service on relevant committees and courses that do not count in a faculty member's teaching load;
  11. any other evidence that the Selection Committee considers relevant.

The deadline for submission of comments is 4 pm on 4 April 2013.  Please submit comments in hard copy or by e-mail, using your University e-mail account, to the Committee, c/o Robin Dickson in the Dean's Office.  The Committee intends to make its decision and announce the name of the recipient of the award before the end of term, with the award to be given at the Graduation Banquet.
