Admission Requirements

High School Students

Our graduates praise our highly qualified professors and caring environment. From program advising to career counseling, you’ll get all the help you need.

Thank you for your interest in the Faculty of Kinesiology.  For detailed information on admission requirements, go to Prospective Students.

Admissions to the program are on a competitive basis, so apply early (before the March 31 deadline) and continue to study. The better your high school marks, the greater your chances are to be accepted into Kinesiology and to win a scholarship!

Transfer and Mature Students

We encourage transfer and mature students to apply to the Faculty.

  • Transfer Students provides detailed information on acceptance and application procedures.

Admission to the Faculty is competitive, so normally we recommend that students have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  If your GPA is less than 3.0,

  • Please contact Jeff Burkard for an assessment of your transferability.

Transfer and Work Experience Credits

Transfer Credits: The Faculty will assess your transfer credits within 24 hours.

Contact Jeff Burkard for an evaluation of your credits.

We have Transfer Agreements with colleges that allow for the transfer of two years of course credits:

  • Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage
  • Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy
  • New Brunswick Community College: Hospitality and Tourism
  • Holland College: Sport and Leisure Management

Prior Learning Assessment Credit: If you entered the workforce after graduation and are now coming to UNB, you can apply for academic credit for your work experience. You may also be given credit for workshops, certificate programs, or work with volunteer agencies.
