Master of Arts in Sport & Recreation Studies

This degree program offers two options.

Thesis

This option is for students interested in a research degree and provides an opportunity to investigate a specific area of interest in depth. The research may be focused on program delivery, management techniques, planning and programming outcomes while exploring specific behaviours to sport, recreation and leisure activities.

Internship

This option is for students wanting the practical experience of working in the field. It provides 4 months working experience in a sport or recreation organization in consultation with your supervisor and in line the your field of interest, such as management, volunteerism, planning or programming. Sample internships include:

  • Columbia Lake Health Club, Ontario - Assistant Corporate Planner

Please note the changes below in curriculum requirements for students accepted into the MASRS program for the Fall of 2012.  Student registered and/or accepted into the MASRS program prior to the Fall 2012 will fall under the requirements in place at time of acceptance into program.
