Experiential learning through internships

The Faculty of Kinesiology offers a transformative student experience through internships and practicums that take you outside the classroom into the workplace or community. Many students site internships and practicums as the most fulfilling aspect of their undergraduate degree and a useful resource for gaining a clearer vision of their career goals.

Practicums - Optional for BRSS and BScKin students

At UNB we tailor your practicums to careers that interest you which helps you make career decisions and gain relevant work experience. You may shadow a health care worker, help coach a sports team, or volunteer with a community agency.

Practicum courses count as three or six credit hours towards your undergraduate degree.

Professional internships - Optional for BRSS students only

Similar to practicums, internships place you in a job situation but for a longer term. These are four-month, full time placements with an organization best suited to your career goals. You’ll become part of a professional team, learning and contributing as you go. You’ll gain experience and make connections. Many of our internship placements have led to full-time jobs.
