Kinesiology Graduate Student Association
Who We Are
The GSA is an organization of and for all full-time graduate students at UNB. It concerns itself with all aspects of graduate student life at the university; formal and informal, academic and non-academic, intellectual and recreational. The GSA provides services such as travel grant funding, annual research conference, orientation week events, subsidized daycare services, and weekly media communications.
The objectives of the Kinesiology Graduate Student Association are to promote and represent the interests of all graduate students within the Faculty of Kinesiology:
- To identify and promote the academic, intellectual and career concerns of the membership.
- To provide social and recreational activities for the membership and encourage friendship among the members.
- To undertake projects and activities to benefit the members.
- To undertake such other activities as the members may from time to time decide.
Membership
Membership is automatically granted to all Master and PhD students in the Faculty of Kinesiology at UNB.
Meetings
The Kin GSA meet once or twice per academic term when the executive calls a meeting to discuss issues that arise pertaining to the Kinesiology graduate students at UNB. Notice of the meetings will be circulated via the Kin Grad email list.
Executive
The Kin GSA consists of a President, Vice-President and Secretary-Treasurer and is selected at the end of the previous academic year by the Kinesiology graduate students. The responsibilities include:
- Act as the official spokesperson of Kin GSA
- Set up agenda, call and preside over all meetings
- Advertise meeting dates and other important (non-social) events
- Appoint and dismiss all committee members
- Act as a liaison between KGSA and the faculty/administration of the faculty
- Attend all departmental meetings (1/month)
- Attend all UNB GSA meetings (1/month)
