Hazardous Materials

The licensing and disposal of hazardous materials are coordinated through the Environmental Health and Safety Office. As a control measure over hazardous materials, copies of all purchase requisitions are monitored and where appropriate, as with radioactive materials, or devices, records are maintained on the location and quantity of such material. Purchase of radioactive materials requisition must be sent to the RSO for approval before ordering. For specific information on chemical handling and chemical or biohazardous waste disposal, consult the EHS Manager. For information on the handling, use and disposal of radioactive materials, consult the Radiation Safety Manual or the EHS Manager.
