TME Program Overview

A smart investment in your future

These are not your typical business courses.

The Technology Management & Entrepreneurship (TME) diploma is dedicated specifically to undergraduates in technological fields like engineering or computer science and working professionals who want to jumpstart their careers.

Need to know how to ensure your complex project gets done on time and under budget?   Don’t have a clue how to write a business plan, to sell your extremely technical idea to an investor or manage the finances on your company’s most important project?

The TME diploma is for you.

You will learn from experienced and successful entrepreneurs in a variety of technological fields. You will have the opportunity to work on ‘real’ projects with some our region’s most innovative companies and leaders. All the skills you learn – from business planning and risk management to quality management and financial principles – will be grounded in a technology context.

Technology-intensive projects require a high degree of specialized project management skills and knowledge. In our popular Managing Engineering & Information Technology Projects, you gain these highly-sought-after skills. You will learn how to organize, plan, schedule and control technology projects as well as how to manage people and risks and how to control project changes. The practical skills you build are highly regarded by employers and will give you a competitive advantage in our global economy, whether you are an undergraduate who wants to be job-ready or a working professional who wants to move up to a management role.

Choose the courses that fit your needs.

The TME program will give you essential skills in three core areas: business management, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. You must have at least 80 credit hours in an applicable program of study to enrol in any TME courses. Although our program is part of the Faculty of Engineering, you do not have to be an engineering student to take TME courses.

The TME diploma program consists of eight courses and requires completion of five for a total of 15 credit hours. If you are an undergraduate student, you can earn the diploma concurrent with your degree program by choosing TME courses as electives. If you are a working professional, you can take all five courses over two semesters or take the courses – taught mainly in the evenings – over an extended period of time. Some courses are also available online through the College of Extended Learning at the UNB Fredericton campus.

You can choose which courses fit your needs and interests.
