SPC 2013 Details
Eligibility
SPC is open to any UNB student with an interest in driving technological or social innovation to better the world in which we live.
Entries may be submitted by individuals or by groups of up to 4.
Submission & Selection Process
| Step 1: | Early Registration deadline* | Thursday, January 31st @ 12 P.M |
| Step 2: | Complete the online registration form for the competition |
Friday, March 1st @ 5 P.M |
| Step 3: | Submit 1-2 page executive summary of your idea | Friday, March 1st @ 5 P.M |
| Step 4: | Confirm your attendance by submitting the online RSVP form | Friday, March 7th |
| Step 5: | Finalists announced | Monday, March 15th |
| Step 6: | Student Pitch Competition | Thursday, March 28th |
* Students who register before January 31st will get a chance to refine their pitch before the competition by working with professionals.
An elevator pitch is designed to give a concise overview of a product, service, or idea taking no longer than the duration of an elevator ride. Please watch this video below explaining what an elevator pitch is:
Judging Criteria
Finalists will be selected from executive summaries based on:
- Innovation impact, viability and sustainability of idea
- Persuasiveness of summary
- Effectiveness of summary
Pitch winners will be selected based on:
- Innovation impact, viability and sustainability of idea
- Presentation enthusiasm and effectiveness of pitch
- Level of engagement during the pitch and Q&A
