Global Entrepreneurship Week

UNB will be celebrating the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) from Nov. 12 to 18 (2012) — an initiative of the Kauffman Foundation designed to inspire and engage the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs. Several different organizations and student groups will be involved in the celebration. Guest speakers will be invited to talk about their journey as innovators and entrepreneurs and how they challenged the status quo.

The students will also be given an opportunity to compete in the You Innovate Canada 2012 Tournament. The YOU Innovate Canada tournament will show you that the spark of a great business idea simply comes from looking at an ordinary thing in an extraordinary way, an entrepreneurial way. For the second year, this national tournament will be held in celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week Canada (GEW Canada) to provide an opportunity for every Canadian over 16 years to engage with, connect to and see the value of entrepreneurship in their lives.

On September 27^th, eligible participants will be asked to turn their minds to creating new value out of an everyday object. YOU Innovate Canada participants will use that object as the raw material to create a new innovation, define its value and submit a brief video about their innovation for the chance to win cash awards!
