Mechanical Engineering

Educating engineers since 1908

The Department of Mechanical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of New Brunswick was founded in 1908.

We offer both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering. Our undergraduate programs feature a number of options such as biomedical, mechatronics, and nuclear & power plant engineering.

We offer a Master's of Engineering, a Master's of Science in Engineering and PhD program at the graduate level.

The department has 14 full-time faculty members, two honorary research professors, seven adjunct professors and three Professor Emeritus. Support staff includes three secretaries, four technicians and a number of research engineers and research assistants.

Four other faculty members from outside the department are involved in the Graduate Academic Unit of Mechanical Engineering.

A broad spectrum of research projects is conducted within the department, and in conjunction with other groups within and outside the university.
