Chantal Lafargue is a Faculty Associate at the Second Language Research Institute of Canada within the Faculty of Education, University of New Brunswick (UNB). Her responsibilities include contributing to research projects, supervising interns, and teaching courses. Her graduate research at UNB focused on promoting and assessing oral interaction in a virtual Spanish classroom. Lafargue has received provincial and national recognition for her innovative approaches in using technology to foster 21st century learning. Her classroom experience consists as acting as a teacher of Spanish, French Immersion, and English as an Additional Language and serving as a department head for modern languages. She has worked with novice-to-intermediate language learners in both face-to-face and online environments.
