7th Annual Dalhousie Conference on University Teaching
May 1 - 2, 2013
Halifax, NS
Globalization and the internationalization of Canadian universities are complex phenomena. They encompass a range of economic, political, cultural and educational theories, ideas, concepts, and activities. While campus internationalization is generally viewed positively, it is essential to create clear rationales and aspirations for what we hope to achieve and for whom. Institutions, programs, faculty, and service units are increasingly being challenged to create and implement innovative programs, courses and resources in support of an international mindset. We are faced with meeting the needs of students who will live, study and work in our local and global communities.

STLHE (Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Educationa) 2013
June 19 - 22, 2013
Sydney, NS
Our conference is inspired by the concept of sustainability and titled "learning to live, learning for life". For us, this theme encompasses living in an economically, physically, and culturally sustainable way and integrating sustained learning throughout. We are particularly eager to show you how environmental and educational sustainability connect in CBU's Verschuren Centre for Sustainability in Energy and the Environment, one of Canada's most sustainable university labs.
We have invited two distinguished keynote speakers, Rex Murphy, who many will know as a CBC personality known for his word-smithing and lifelong passion for teaching; and Richard Gerver, who is inspiring teachers globally with his work on educational transformation.
