2011 a great year for teaching at UNB
November 25, 2011
A reception was recently hosted by the Centre for Enhanced Teaching & Learning (CETL) to honour thirteen teaching award winners from the UNB Fredericton campus. These are faculty and instructors from across campus who stand out for their commitment to classroom teaching.

This year's award recipients include Diana Austin, who was recognized at the national level with a 3M Teaching Fellowship, and John Grant McLoughlin, who was recognized as a University Teaching Scholar. Eleven others received faculty or department awards that highlight how much they are appreciated for the efforts they put into their teaching.
Students are involved in nominating their professors for the teaching excellence awards, and participate at the department and university-wide level. This year over 50 Fredericton professors were nominated for university-wide awards through CETL.
As we reviewed all the
nominations, we couldn't help but be impressed with so many great
stories of amazing teaching at UNB notes CETL Director Ken Reimer. It was like each nomination somehow topped the last, making it very
hard to choose the winners.
The award reception was the
first annual event, and something that is hoped will become a tradition
at UNB as the university strives to provide students with an
exceptional and transformative learning experience.
