Faculty of Engineering
Creativity. Innovation. Discipline. These are attributes of artists, athletes – and engineers. Engineers are constantly thinking of ways to solve
everyday problems and to improve our lives in ways we may never have imagined. Whether it’s creating artificial limbs or designing spacecraft, eng
ineers are
on the forefront of technology, using their imagination and in-depth knowledge to make the world a better place.
As a professional engineer, you will be learning and growing your way towards your full potential. The variety and opportunity is boundless. Engineers work in virtually every sector, every industry, everywhere in the world. In fact, the profession is so broad that you may want to take some time to consider where you want to focus your studies.
This site outlines the degree programs UNB offers, and the opportunities within each field. You may also want to take advantage of the co-op work terms and professional experience placements we offer to see if the branch of engineering you're considering will be a good fit. And read our alumni profiles to see how other UNB students have landed the job of their dreams.
Our graduates have helped design and build bridges, make cleaner fuels, and create next-generation wireless communications tools. Researchers at the faculty of engineering are developing technologies to help improve satellite imagery used by Google Earth and the Canadian Department of National Defence. Others are in helping develop biofuels and renewable energy.
Whether you choose research, entrepreneurship or working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team within a specific industry, you'll find great opportunities and rewards with your UNB engineering degree.
