Faculty of Computer Science

The Faculty of Computer Science is the first computer science faculty in Canada and its co-op programs are the oldest in Atlantic Canada. We have 26 full-time faculty and more than 20 research and instructional laboratories. Research and instruction include: computer hardware, software engineering, embedded systems, e-Business, e-Learning, security, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, computer assisted drug design, high performance computing, web services, iPhone/iPad application development, and more. This diverse offering allows you to choose an area of computing that best suits your interests and abilities.

There is a need for at least 18,000 new information technology professionals each year in Canada. Our universities only produce 7,000 graduates. Work Experience Options

Co-op Program

Our Co-op program offers paid work experience consisting of four to six work terms over the five years of your degree program. Co-op graduates typically have job offers before they graduate. MostUNBco-op students graduate debt-free or very low debt. There are three co-op positions available for every one applicant so placements are virtually guaranteed.

Professional Experience Program (PEP)

The PEP consists of 8-, 12-, or 16-month internships, typically following your third year of study. You will combine theory and practice in major long-term projects while earning a competitive salary and gaining relevant work experience.
