Unique options

Our MBA program provides some unique options to apply your classroom learning to real world business situations. These help students develop entrepreneurial skills and self confidence to become effective business leaders in today's economy.

In 2008 SIF students won the North American championship at the second annual Global Investment Research Challenge in New York City.

Student Investment Fund - for anyone interested in a career in finance, this is the program you will need to invest in your future.  This program allows students to invest real money in bonds, stocks and other securities, and at the same time prepare them for the Chartered Financial Analyst Level One examination. Since the program began in 1998, students in this class have doubled the fund from $1 million to $2 million.

Export partnering program - students work with New Brunswick companies to plan and implement export strategies. Working in teams, students investigate the market potential for a company that wants to export their products or services, and then write an export-marketing plan. In the spring, all this hard work culminates in a trade mission, where one student from each team is selected to join their partnering company.

MBA consulting group - students are employed by a company to prepare a consultancy report for them. While gaining experience and making business contacts students also earn three credit hours towards the MBA degree.

MBA with concentration in entrepreneurship - students can complete the general MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship by taking new venture creation and entrepreneurship, venture development, market opportunity analysis or entrepreneurial finance.

Activator program - students prepare a business plan then pitch it to angel investors and venture capitalists on behalf of a venture start-up with the entrepreneur and a seasoned business mentor.
