Honours and Majors : Option B
All candidates for an honour or a major in French must:
- have received a grade of C or higher in their second year
All candidates for an honour must:
- submit a letter requesting admission to the program to Dr Christine Horne, chair of theFrench Department
All candidates for a major must:
- meet Dr Robert Viau, director of the honours and majors program
- indicate to the Registrar that they are registered for a major in FR
Please note that:
- FR 3404 is the prerequisite to all linguistic courses
- Francophone students may not take FR 3034 and 4034
- Immersion graduates may not take FR 3034
- It is suggested to take FR 4034 and 4054 in your 4th year
For an single honours (14 courses = 42 credits), you must take:
- twelve upper-level FR courses (3000 and 4000 level)
- FR 4902. Honours Report (6 ch)
For a joint honours (10 courses = 30 credits), you must take:
- ten upper-level FR courses (3000 and 4000 level)
For a single major (12 courses = 36 credits), you must take:
- twelve upper-level FR courses (3000 and 4000 level)
For a double major (10 courses = 30 credits), you must take:
- ten upper-level FR courses (3000 and 4000 level)
