When to choose your major?
A major is a concentration in a single subject. Students may choose to do a single major or a double major. A major in a given subject shall consist of the successful completion of not less than 30 credit hours in that subject, 24 of which must be in advanced level (3000-4000 level) courses. Departments may require single major students to take up to 42 credit hours in advanced level courses and double major students to take up to 30 credit hours in advanced courses. Students should consult the department in which they are majoring to determine what is required.
You choose your major only after you have completed 60 credit hours (typically after you have completed the first two years of your BA program).
