Prior to joining the NB-IRDT team in February 2017, Heidi worked in various research officer roles at the Health Department of Western Australia and as a data analyst for the Disability Services Commission in Western Australia. These roles included tasks from all stages in a research project; for example, from stake holder engagement, ethics approvals, questionnaire development and literature reviews, to data analyses and report writing. Prior to this she worked as an early intervention therapist for children with autism.
Heidi volunteered for the WA AIDS council where she taught sexuality education for school-aged children and worked on the needle exchange program. Sexual health and disability are her primary research interests.
Overall, Heidi's well-rounded research experience, interest in public health and project management skills make her a good fit for the NB-IRDT and MSSU teams.
