My current research interests focus on three separate areas: Cognition/Perception, Perceptual asymmetries, and gender-related differences in cognitive abilities. In the first area, my research emphasizes the perception of sarcasm and subphonemic aspects of speech perception. In the second area, I conduct research on the representation of language in the brain and lower level factors that affect it. For the third area, my research emphasizes possible explanations of why men and women differ on some cognitive abilities.  My teaching interests are in statistics, research methods, and perception.
