First Nation Mental Health Services are developed and delivered based on the Medicine Wheel. Individual, family therapy and community programs are assessed, developed and evaluated with the four quadrants of the Medicine Wheel, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Areas of expertise include but are not limited to grief, sexual abuse, addictions, FASD, domestic violence, trauma, depression and anxiety.

Students have an opportunity to experience a child or adult placement with assessments, case conceptualization, treatment planning, and therapy. The clinical skills are enhanced by the opportunity to gain some cultural competency by participating in a migmag community. Students are encouraged to explore the language, culture and ceremonies as part of their overall experience.
