Jon Marsh

Biographical Sketch

Jon is currently pursuing his PhD degree in philosophy at Saint Louis University. He moved to Saint Louis after having earned a BA at the University of New Brunswick and a MA at the University of Western Ontario.

Research Interests

His main research areas are:

  • norms of belief revisions and assertion within the context of disagreement

  • the relationship between involuntary belief and voluntary action

  • the role of cognitive virtues in normative epistemology

  • the rationality of testimonial-based belief

  • the value of life

In short, Jon works mainly at the intersection of epistemology and ethics. Jon also regularly teaches an introductory course in ethics at Saint Louis University, and hopes to teach courses related to one of the above issues in the near future.
