Dr. Nicholas Tracy, Adjunct Professor, is affiliated with the Department. His specialties are naval history and naval strategic studies.
With the members of the Department of History in Fredericton, historians who are members of the Department of History and Politics at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John make up the Graduate Academic Unit (GAU) in history.

The Department of History at UNB in Fredericton cooperates closely with the historians at Saint Thomas University. Among other forms of collaboration, STU historians are Honourary Research Associates, allowing them to participate in our graduate program as field and co-supervisors. The Departments also have a tradition of cooperation in undergraduate teaching. The three History Departments also host annual colloquiums to share research
