Kathleen McConnell

Kathleen McConnell (pen name Kathy Mac) teaches creative writing, women writers, Canadian poetry and Victorian literature at St. Thomas University, where she is also chair of the department of English. She has published a book of essays entitled Pain Porn and Complicity: Women Heroes from Pygmalion to Twilight (Wolsak and Wynn 2013) and two books of poems: The Hundefraulein Papers (Roseway, 2009), and Nail Builders Plan for Strength and Growth (Roseway, 2001), which was a finalist for the Governor General's Award, and won the Lampert Award for Best First Book of Poems published in Canada in 2001. In 2006 she received a SSHRC Research/Creation grant to produce a manuscript of Scholarly Long Poems.
