Student Therapists
Assessment and therapy are provided by student therapists under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. The students at the PWC are all enrolled in UNB’s Clinical Psychology doctoral program which is accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association. All students have completed an undergraduate degree and at least 2 years of post-graduate work. They have completed courses in Ethics as well as skills courses in Assessment and Therapy with both children and adults. Therapy sessions are monitored by the supervising psychologist who is on-site at all times when therapy or assessment sessions are in progress.
If you have any questions about the training and qualifications of the student therapists or how they are supervised, please feel free to contact the director of the PWC, Dr. Jean Craven.
