Conference Description

The Gregg Centre, together with the Law Faculty of the University of New Brunswick at Fredericton and Women in International Security (WIIS)-Canada, invite applications from graduate students and law students for participation in this year's WIIS-Canada workshop, to be held 5-7 May 2011, at the University of New Brunswick at Fredericton. The workshop brings together students, scholars and professionals in the field of international security with the goal of advancing the position of women in the field. Each year, WIIS focuses its workshop on a theme of great importance in the field of international security. WIIS is able to provide reimbursement for most travel and accommodation expenses for the graduate and law students selected for participation.

This year's theme is International Security and the Law: New Challenges Since 9/11. We welcome proposals from the widest array of perspectives.  

Students may apply to participate as panellists or as observers and are encouraged to submit research related to their thesis or dissertation projects. Proposals may be submitted in English or French and papers may be presented at the workshop in either language.
