The Eaton Lecture
The inaugural Eaton Lecture, presented by The Gregg Centre for the Study of War and Society at the University of New Brunswick, challenged our concept of remembrance.
Entitled Beyond Remembrance, the lecture was delivered by Gregg Centre Director J. Marc Milner, Nov. 7, 2012.
The first Eaton Lecture posed the question: What do we make of the great wars of the 20th century when all the veterans are gone? Dr. Milner argues that traditional "remembrance" of this period is not only dying out with the passing of the generations, it is too narrowly conceived to capture the real impact of this formative era in Canadian history.
UNB's Gregg Centre is a national centre of excellence for the study of war and society. Its programs cater to graduate students, armed forces personnel, scholars, high school teachers, and students of all ages.

The next Eaton Lecture will be held in the fall of 2013.
