"Islanders at War and Peace"

The Second Annual Atlantic Military Affairs Symposium is scheduled for 25 and 26 March 2011 at the HMCS Queen Charlotte, 210 Water Street Parkway, Charlottetown, PEI.

The Atlantic Military Affairs Symposium connects Prince Edward Island to its military heritage past and present.

Tentative Program:

Friday, 25 March, keynote address:

Dr. Marc Milner (The Gregg Centre for the Study of War & Society, UNB) - "D Company (PEI Highlanders) of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and the Battles for Authie and Buron, 7 June 1944"

Saturday, 26 March (Tentative Program):

Dr. Bruce Craig (UPEI) - "Espionage in the Great War Munitions Industry"

Dr. Lee Windsor (The Gregg Centre for the Study of War & Society, UNB) - "Atlantic Canadian Regiments at the Battle for the Marana River, Italy, September 1944"

Dr. Richard Gimblett (Navy Command Historian, NDHQ) - "Canada's Navy in the Persian Gulf since 1990"

Saturday's program will conclude with presentations by members of the HMCS Queen Charlotte and the Prince Edward Island Regiment, returned from active service around the world.
